Geordie Campbell's Fall 2026 Collection: A Fusion of Ballet and Boxing
LONDON (https://wwd.com/tag/london/) - Prepare to be captivated by Geordie Campbell's latest collection, a bold and playful fusion of ballet and boxing. Inspired by the so-bad-they're-good proportions of the '80s, Campbell's designs pack a graceful punch, blending femininity and masculinity in unexpected ways. The collection, titled "Rough Pointe," is a testament to the designer's unique vision and personal experiences.
"The brand is all about that juxtaposition between femininity and masculinity and trying to find where you fit," Campbell explains. From pointelle tops dotted with ditsy florals, tulle tutus, and dupion silk boxer shorts to tough denim button-ups and laser-etched jeans, the collection offers a diverse range of styles. A rewatch of the classic film "Billy Elliot," which follows a young boy who rejects boxing in favor of ballet, served as the starting point for the collection, with a personal bent added to it.
"When I was younger, my school had a ballet extracurricular activity, and I really wanted to do it," Campbell recalls. "My parents never let me, but I would watch the other kids go into their ballet lessons wearing these tutus and knit tops that crossed over in the middle and tied at the side, which were just so cute." Knit wrap tops and trousers with tulle frill detailing nod to this memory, while a T-shirt printed with the text "Glory Boy" is a fresh take on the brand's bestselling Ts emblazoned with its slogan, British Boy, and asterix logo.
Campbell's direct-to-consumer business is strong, which is why he focused on growing his wholesale presence this time around. After buyer feedback from last season, he put on his commercial cap to design 52 garments — his largest collection yet. The collection launched with a look book styled by i-D magazine's deputy editor Alex Kessler, and Campbell said the collection would be presented to buyers in a showroom during Paris's June menswear fashion week.
